Samsung Heavy Secures 4.3 Trillion-Won FLNG Deal

Seoul: Samsung Heavy Industries Co., a major South Korean shipbuilder, said Tuesday it has secured a 4.33 trillion-won (US$2.85 billion) contract to build a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Heavy announced in a regulatory filing that it signed the deal with an undisclosed North American client. The shipbuilder is scheduled to deliver the FLNG facility by July 2030.

With this latest order, Samsung Heavy has secured contracts worth a combined US$8.3 billion to build 28 ships so far this year.
