Seoul:Samsung Electronics Co., the world's largest memory chipmaker, has estimated its third-quarter operating profit at 107.4 trillion won (approximately US$80.1 billion), representing a 782.5 percent increase from the previous year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's revenue for the quarter rose by 126.6 percent, reaching 195 trillion won. However, data regarding net earnings was not provided.

The operating profit surpassed the average estimate by 1.6 percent, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm associated with Yonhap News Agency. Samsung, a leading global supplier of high bandwidth memory (HBM) semiconductors, plans to release its final earnings report at a later date.
