Samsung Card Q2 Net Income Rises by 2 Percent to 154.2 Billion Won

Seoul: Samsung Card on Monday reported its second-quarter net income of 154.2 billion won (US$105.1 million), marking a 2 percent increase from the same period last year. The financial performance reflects the company's strategic management and operational efficiency amid fluctuating market conditions.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the credit card company disclosed in a regulatory filing that its operating profit for the quarter reached 208.6 billion won, showing an increase from 200.5 billion won in the previous year. Despite the improvement in net income and operating profit, the company's revenue experienced a decline of 6.3 percent, totaling 1.17 trillion won.

The report underscores the challenges faced by Samsung Card as it navigates a competitive financial landscape while simultaneously striving to enhance profitability. The observed decrease in revenue suggests potential market pressures or shifts in consumer behavior that the company may need to address in subsequent quarters.
