Seoul: The heads of South Korea's largest business conglomerates, Samsung Electronics Co. and SK Group, are slated to attend the prestigious Google Camp on the Italian island of Sicily later this month, as reported by industry sources on Tuesday. Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won have received invitations to this exclusive annual summer event, hosted by Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, which assembles top technology executives, business leaders, and influential public figures globally.

According to Yonhap News Agency, both Lee and Chey missed last year's gathering due to their commitments in the United States during the final stages of the South Korea-U.S. tariff negotiations. This year, their participation is anticipated to bolster relations with Google and other international technology leaders, providing a platform to discuss pivotal business matters.

The upcoming visit follows their attendance at a high-level conference in San Francisco last week. This event gathered leaders from major South Korean conglomerates and global technology companies, where they, along with firms like Nvidia Corp., committed to initiating a series of collaborative projects worth a total of US$950 billion.
