Milan: Samsung Electronics Co. announced the selection of 10 teams of young innovators to address both local and global challenges through its corporate social responsibility program in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The announcement was made on Monday, following an appointment ceremony held in Milan alongside the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the selected teams will receive funding and support from Samsung for two years to help transform their innovative ideas into commercially viable products. The Solve for Tomorrow program, initiated in 2010, focuses on empowering youth-led projects that use science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to tackle various challenges.

Among the chosen projects is an initiative by an Indonesian team to develop a wearable AI solution that assists visually impaired individuals in safely engaging in running and other physical activities. Another notable project is from an Indian team, which proposed a cloud-based AI system that converts unclear speech into clear pronunciation in real time for individuals with speech impairments.

Lee Won-jin, president of global marketing at Samsung Electronics, highlighted the program's impact in a release, stating, "Through Solve for Tomorrow and our collaboration with the IOC, we are creating environments where young people can discover their strengths, express their ideas, and contribute meaningfully to society."
