Seoul: South Korean President Lee Jae Myung on Monday left Nice, France, en route to Paris, where he will make a state visit and hold bilateral talks with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee and Macron recently co-hosted a meeting in Saint-Paul-de-Vence focusing on the future of the film industry. President Lee is scheduled to arrive in Paris later today, with his official state visit commencing on Tuesday and spanning two days.

During the visit, President Lee will partake in a one-on-one luncheon with President Macron, followed by summit talks. The day will conclude with a dinner banquet hosted by President Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, at the Elysee Palace.

On Wednesday, President Lee is set to meet with Yael Braun-Pivet, the speaker of the lower house of the French parliament, and Mathias Cormann, the secretary-general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), prior to his return to South Korea.

The discussions between Lee and Macron are expected to cover cooperation in various sectors, including security, the economy, science and technology, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. This visit marks the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Korea and France.
