S. Korean and Swedish Officials Engage in Talks on Korean Peninsula Cooperation

Seoul: Jeong Yeon-doo, vice foreign minister for diplomatic strategy and intelligence, met with Sweden's special envoy for the Korean Peninsula, Peter Semneby, to discuss recent developments on the Korean Peninsula and explore ways to promote peace in the region, the foreign ministry reported.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the meeting took place at the foreign ministry in Seoul, where both sides addressed Sweden's contributions to issues concerning the Korean Peninsula. Jeong acknowledged Stockholm's appointment of a special envoy and highlighted its role as a mediator between the two Koreas.

During the discussions, Semneby outlined Sweden's diplomatic efforts in relation to Korean Peninsula matters and assured that Stockholm would maintain close communication with Seoul, as conveyed by the ministry.
