Seoul: A South Korean artificial intelligence consortium has entered into a tentative agreement with Saudi Arabia's Aramco Digital to explore joint business ventures in the AI sector, the science ministry announced Monday. The memorandum of understanding was signed between a consortium of seven companies, including Rebellions Inc., FuriosaAI, Upstage Co., and LG AI Research, and Aramco Digital in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, this partnership aims to leverage South Korea's comprehensive AI technologies to explore potential applications within Saudi Arabia. Aramco Digital, an affiliate of the world's largest energy company Saudi Aramco, is spearheading the AI transformation in the Middle East. The collaboration is expected to create opportunities for South Korean firms in AI adoption and utilization within Saudi Arabia's energy and manufacturing sectors.
