Seoul: The KOSPI 200 stocks on the Korea Stock Exchange saw a general downturn in Monday's trading session. The majority of major companies, including industry leaders, recorded declines in their closing prices.
According to Yonhap News Agency, notable declines were observed across various sectors. POSCO Holdings closed at 341,500 KRW, down by 6,000 KRW. Hyundai Motor saw a significant drop, closing at 478,000 KRW, a decrease of 22,000 KRW. Samsung Electronics also experienced a major decline, with its stock closing at 150,400 KRW, down by 10,100 KRW.
Other significant decreases included SK hynix, which closed at 830,000 KRW, down by 79,000 KRW, and DOOSAN, which ended at 832,000 KRW, falling by 19,000 KRW. The insurance sector also took a hit, with Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance closing at 481,500 KRW, down 19,500 KRW, and DB Insurance at 140,900 KRW, a decline of 1,700 KRW.
In contrast, Lotte Chilsung was among the few companies to see an increase in its stock price, closing at 134,600 KRW, up by 1,100 KRW. Despite this slight gain, the overall trend for the KOSPI 200 stocks was negative, with most companies experiencing a downturn in their stock values.
