Seoul: South Korea will provide US$1 million in humanitarian aid to Colombia to help the country recover from a recent deadly earthquake, Seoul's foreign ministry said Wednesday. "We hope this aid will help the country's recovery efforts and ensure a swift return to normalcy for its people," the ministry said, adding the donation will be delivered through an international organization operating in Colombia.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the South American country was hit by a 7.4 magnitude earthquake earlier this week that has killed over 200 people. The earthquake has caused significant destruction, impacting infrastructure and displacing numerous residents. The international community has been actively responding to the disaster, with several countries offering assistance to support Colombia during this challenging time. South Korea's contribution is part of a broader international effort to aid in the recovery and rebuilding of affected areas.
