S. Korea Logs 89.6 Trillion Won Fiscal Deficit Through November in 2025

Seoul: South Korea's fiscal deficit amounted to over 89 trillion won (US$60.7 billion) in the first 11 months of last year, the budget ministry reported Thursday. The managed fiscal balance, considered a key measure of fiscal health and calculated on stricter terms, recorded a deficit of 89.6 trillion won in the January-November period, based on data from the Ministry of Planning and Budget.

According to Yonhap News Agency, total revenue increased by 39.2 trillion won from the same period a year earlier, reaching 581.2 trillion won. Tax revenue, in particular, rose by 37.9 trillion won on-year, totaling 353.6 trillion won. Meanwhile, total expenditures saw an increase of 54.3 trillion won, amounting to 624.4 trillion won.

The central government's outstanding debt was reported at 1,289.4 trillion won as of the end of November.
