Seoul: The arms agency announced that it has deployed an upgraded flight training simulator for a military utility helicopter to Army units for operational use. This development is anticipated to bolster the Army's response capabilities.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the flight training simulator for the KUH-1 Surion military helicopters is engineered to replicate various emergency scenarios, including adverse weather conditions and engine failures, in a more realistic manner than the existing equipment. The Defense Acquisition Program Administration highlighted this advancement in a recent release.
The simulator's development commenced in December 2023, and it has since undergone and completed the necessary tests and evaluations. It is set to be primarily utilized in Army field units, enhancing the preparedness of personnel.
The Surion is a medium-sized utility helicopter that has been a part of the Army's fleet since 2012, providing essential support in various operational contexts.
