S. Korea and Quebec Engage in Talks to Enhance Defense Cooperation

Seoul: Senior officials from South Korea and Quebec engaged in discussions in Seoul to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation, as reported by the foreign ministry. Chung Eui-hae, South Korea's deputy minister for political affairs, and Christopher Skeete, Quebec's minister of international relations, participated in the talks.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Chung emphasized Quebec's increased focus on expanding cooperation in defense. He highlighted Seoul's interest in Canada's submarine procurement project, seeking to involve Quebec in this initiative. Skeete, on the other hand, expressed optimism about increasing collaboration with Korean companies in Quebec's strategic industries. These include sectors such as artificial intelligence, aerospace, and critical minerals.
