S. Korea and Andhra Pradesh Discuss Business Cooperation

Seoul: Senior officials from South Korea and the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh convened in Seoul to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation and extending support to Korean businesses operating in Andhra Pradesh, as reported by Seoul's foreign ministry.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Deputy Foreign Minister Chung Eui-hae engaged with Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh's minister for information technology, electronics and communications, real-time governance, and human resources development. Lokesh's visit to South Korea is part of a weeklong initiative under the Seoul government's high-level exchange program.

Chung highlighted that the relationship between South Korea and India has progressed significantly across multiple sectors since President Lee Jae Myung's state visit to India in April. He emphasized the importance of sustained interest and support for Korean enterprises in Andhra Pradesh.

Lokesh remarked that his visit facilitated interactions with Korean companies and allowed for the exploration of investment partnerships with the state. Andhra Pradesh, situated on India's southeastern coast, serves as a key hub for manufacturing, technology, and logistics and has attracted considerable foreign investment, including from South Korean firms.

During their visit, Lokesh and his delegation have been engaging with various Korean companies and organizations, such as Kia Corp., Hyundai Mobis Co., LG Electronics Inc., and LG Chem Ltd. The ministry stated, "As part of the follow-up to the state visit, we will continue to promote exchanges with India's central and state governments, while working to build networks of pro-Korea leaders and strengthen friendly relations throughout the region."
