Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung will host a luncheon with leaders of the ruling Democratic Party (DP) and the main opposition People Power Party (PPP) later this week to discuss ways to seek bipartisan cooperation on the economy and other pending issues, Cheong Wa Dae said.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee is scheduled to meet DP leader Jung Chung-rae and PPP leader Jang Dong-hyeok at Cheong Wa Dae on Thursday. The discussions are expected to be "candid" as the leaders address various state affairs, as explained by Kang Hoon-sik, the presidential chief of staff, during a briefing with reporters.

The primary focus of the meeting will be on developing measures for bipartisan cooperation aimed at improving people's livelihoods and ensuring stable governance. Kang emphasized that the discussions are crucial for addressing current challenges and fostering collaboration between the ruling and opposition parties.
