Police Seek Arrest Warrant for Suspect in Seoul Museum Stabbing

Seoul: Police said Saturday they have filed for an arrest warrant for a suspect in his 70s, who is accused of stabbing a man at a museum in central Seoul earlier this week.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the suspect is accused of stabbing the victim in his 40s with a sickle at the Ilmin Museum of Art early Friday morning. The suspect fled the scene but was later found hiding at a friend's residence in Seoul's Gwanak Ward and was put under urgent arrest.

In addition to charges of attempted murder, the suspect is also alleged to have been preparing to commit arson. The victim was being treated at a nearby hospital after sustaining non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials.

Police plan to look into the exact circumstances of the incident and the suspect's motives after securing his custody. The suspect and the victim were acquaintances, who had both worked in the building where the museum is located.
