"With artificial intelligence fast spreading into the daily lives of the people, the AI transition in the public sector should be pursued swiftly and boldly," Han said while presiding over a Cabinet meeting, adding front-line officials are already using AI in their work and such positive effects should spread across the entire administration. Senior officials should have a better understanding of AI in order for AI administrative innovation to succeed, she said.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Han emphasized the need for the interior ministry and related agencies to accelerate the establishment of a system where public officials can freely develop and apply AI to their work, share results, and receive rewards. She also asked ministers to ensure comprehensive AI training for all personnel across each ministry and offer substantial incentives for best practices to speed up government innovation. Han further declared, "We will do our best to make 2027 a year when AI-driven government operations begin in earnest."
