Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Vejjayachai joined the House of Representatives meeting, which considered the draft Budget Expenditure Act for Fiscal Year 2025 in the 2nd and 3rd readings, where the opposition is preparing to debate the budget that the government is preparing to use in the digital wallet project, the soft power project, and the Ministry of Defense budget. He confirmed that the government is ready to explain the entire budget to the opposition and is ready to allow the opposition to perform their duties to the fullest because he is confident that the budget that the government has set is appropriate to solve the problems going forward.
Mr. Phumtham also mentioned the government’s vote after expelling the Palang Pracharath Party from the coalition government, sa
ying that we will see in today’s (3 September) vote what direction it will take.
As for the Democrat Party, which has just joined the government, will they have to start voting in the same direction as the government in considering the budget today (August 3)? Mr. Phumtham stated that each political party will consider it and believes that the vote today (August 3) will reflect reality and the government has a strong voice and there will be no problems.
Mr. Phumtham also confirmed that the consideration of the budget bill in the 2nd and 3rd readings of the House of Representatives meeting will be completed on September 5th and will be effective within the specified time frame in October.
