She is unconscious, her face is swollen, her eye sockets are broken, and her body has bruises all over, four broken ribs, a punctured lung, and bleeding in the brain. This was after her son, Mr. Kritthanat, aged 33, assaulted her because he was unhappy that he forced his mother to borrow money from a neighbor and she didn't get it. This morning (August 30), San Sai Police Station in Chiang Mai Province took Mr. Kritthanat or Jod, a 33-year-old man who studied abroad and is a suspect in an online gambling case and assaulting his 59-year-old mother, to ask the court for permission to detain him. Mr. Jod looked serious and briefly told reporters that he now felt remorseful, regretful, wanted to apologize to his mother, and would not do such behavior again. Initially, the police charged Mr. Jod with two counts: Gambling Act and assault causing serious injury to a parent. The penalty for assaulting a parent is imprisonment not exceeding 10 years. It was also reported that while the Sandray investigation team was questioning Mr. Jod last night, they played him a song called 'Khan Nam Nom' to remind him of his mother's kindness in giving him life and raising him. For Ms. Chatsuda, the injured person, she is considered to be a fairly well-off person. She lives alone in a house in Tambon San Sai Noi, Amphoe San Sai, Chiang Mai Province because she sent her son to study in New Zealand. Then, 2-3 years ago, when her son graduated and returned home, the villagers began to notice something unusual. Ms. Chatsuda often borrowed money from her neighbors. And around April of last year, she began to owe money to people in the community until no neighbors would lend her money . In addition, all her valuables were sold. The son stayed at home and did not work. He told his mother that he sold things online and was heavily addicted to online gambling. He also forced money from his mother. If she did not get the money, he would hurt her every time. Until the neighbors started to notice marks on his body, but Ms. Chatsuda claimed that it was caused by an accident or a fall.
