According to Yonhap News Agency, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un oversaw a ground test of a high-thrust solid-fuel missile engine, a development reported by North Korea's official news agency, KCNA. This military advancement comes as North Korea and Russia's TASS signed an agreement on media cooperation, reflecting expanding bilateral ties. Additionally, the leader of Belarus has ordered the opening of an embassy in North Korea following a summit with Kim, indicating a strengthening of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
China's flag carrier has resumed direct flights between Beijing and Pyongyang, marking a step towards restoring connectivity between the two countries, as reported by various sources. The United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a resolution concerning North Korea's human rights situation, a move that prompted condemnation from Pyongyang, as reported by KCNA. Kim Jong-un expressed intentions to advance ties with Belarus and received a visit from a Chinese civic group focused on Asian economic development.
Declassified documents have revealed South Korea's past efforts to end a treaty with Russia in the 1990s and North Korea's strong backlash against the growing ties between South Korea and China during the same period.
