North Korea and Russia Strengthen Military Ties at Moscow Ceremony


Moscow: North Korea and Russia are closely united in bloody battles against a common enemy, the North’s Defense Minister No Kwang-chol has said at a sculpture unveiling ceremony in Russia, calling for stronger military friendship and solidarity with Moscow.



According to Yonhap News Agency, the North Korean minister made the remarks the previous day at a ceremony in a Moscow suburb, where a sculpture was unveiled honoring North Korean soldiers who fought alongside Russians during World War II. The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported No Kwang-chol’s statement that the two countries and peoples were united with a sense of comradeship and friendship during historic conflicts.



The event highlighted the long-standing relationship between North Korea and Russia, with No emphasizing that this “proud tradition” forms the basis for a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between the two nations. He asserted that both countries are destined for victory and glory as they continue to strengthen their militant friendship and solidarity.



Russian Defense Minister Andrei Beloussov attended the ceremony and described the sculpture as a symbol of enduring militant friendship. He noted that the monument serves as an important reminder of wartime generations and the preservation of historical truth.



Furthermore, Russian news agency Ria Novosti reported that during the ceremony, No expressed unwavering support for Russia in its endeavors to defend sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests.
