Seoul: New Prime Minister Han Seong-sook announced her commitment to aligning government policies with the rapidly evolving private sector, emphasizing timely implementation of necessary reforms. Upon her arrival at the government complex in Seoul, Han highlighted her unique perspective, shaped by her extensive career in information technology before joining the government last year, as a key asset in bridging the gap between the public and private sectors.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Han expressed the importance of the government adopting a proactive stance to maintain the nation's position as a leader amid global upheavals. "The status of our country is changing from a nation chasing the great upheaval to a country leading that upheaval," she stated. Han stressed the need for swift governmental action to ensure the timely implementation of crucial policies.

Han further emphasized the need for a harmonious relationship between the public and private sectors, stating, "The languages of the public and private sectors should go together and both sides should keep pace with each other." She underscored her role in facilitating this synchronization by leveraging her understanding of both sectors. Han also promised to support bold investments in artificial intelligence and other high-tech industries while eliminating regulatory barriers to foster innovation.

Earlier, outgoing Prime Minister Kim Min-seok urged civil servants to prioritize the well-being of citizens, especially the socially vulnerable, during his farewell ceremony. Kim, who is anticipated to run for the leadership of the ruling Democratic Party, emphasized the importance of foresight in politics, particularly through the lens of the disadvantaged. He encouraged maintaining a focus on people's lives and the needs of the weak under the Lee Jae Myung administration.
