Hwaseong: A new African swine fever (ASF) case was reported at a pig farm in Hwaseong, south of Seoul, prompting authorities to take emergency quarantine measures.
According to Yonhap News Agency, city officials in Hwaseong are planning to conduct an epidemiological investigation and restrict access to the site as part of efforts to prevent additional infections. All pigs at the affected farm will be culled to contain the spread of the disease.
The authorities also intend to enhance preventive measures across all 87 pig farms in the municipality. This latest case emerges less than two weeks after another ASF infection was reported at a different pig farm in Hwaseong on February 8.
