NCSOFT Reports Narrowed Losses in Q4 Amidst Aion 2 Release

Seoul: NCSOFT Corp., a South Korean game developer, announced it narrowed its losses in the fourth quarter, attributing the improvement to the release of its role-playing game, Aion 2, in November.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's net loss for the October-December period was recorded at 1.5 billion won (US$1 million), a significant improvement from the 7.6 billion won loss reported the previous year. The company's operating income for the same period reached 3.2 billion won, a notable recovery from the 129.5 billion won loss incurred in the previous year. Despite these improvements, revenue decreased by 1.3 percent to 404.2 billion won.

Revenue from NCSOFT's PC online game division saw a substantial increase, reaching 168.2 billion won in the fourth quarter, which represents an 80 percent rise from a year earlier. This growth was largely driven by the successful launch of Aion 2 in November.

For the entire year of 2025, NCSOFT reported a net profit of 347.4 billion won, marking a 269.1 percent increase from the previous year. The company's operating profit stood at 16.1 billion won, compared to a loss of 109.2 billion won in the previous year, while annual revenue experienced a decline of 4.5 percent, totaling 1.5 trillion won.

Regionally, revenue from South Korea amounted to 928.3 billion won. Other Asian countries contributed 277.5 billion won, while the North American and European markets accounted for 124.7 billion won. Looking ahead to 2026, NCSOFT plans to enhance its competitiveness by globally releasing Aion 2 and introducing new titles.
