Goseong: The Navy was set to launch a 3,600-ton frigate on Tuesday, incorporating advanced homegrown technologies, including a radar system capable of simultaneously detecting and tracking multiple targets from all directions, officials stated. The launch ceremony for the ROKS Jeonnam was scheduled at SK Oceanplant's shipyard in the southern county of Goseong, approximately 310 kilometers southeast of Seoul.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the 129-meter-long warship is equipped with the Navy's standard vertical launch system and ship-to-ship guided missiles. It features multifunctional phased array radars that enable the simultaneous detection and tracking of multiple targets. The frigate is also fitted with an integrated sensor mast and stealth technology to minimize underwater radiated noise.

The vessel will undergo testing and assessment before being delivered to the Navy in December next year for operational deployment.
