Seoul: Naver Corp., South Korea's top portal operator, said Thursday its mobile payment service, Naver Pay, has been fully restored after experiencing a partial service disruption. The South Korean search engine giant confirmed that the service was normalized at around 4:30 p.m. after errors were detected around noon, which included issues such as failures to check reward balances or make payments.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Naver expressed its apologies for the inconvenience caused by the service error and stated its intention to make efforts to offer a more stable service. An official from Naver mentioned that the error does not appear to have been caused by external factors.
The total amount of transactions made through Naver Pay reached 86 trillion won (US$59.2 billion) in 2025.
