Naver to Roll Out AI Agents Across All Services Within This Year

Seongnam: Internet giant Naver Corp. announced plans to implement artificial intelligence (AI) agents across all its services within the year, aiming to boost profits from AI-driven offerings. At its general shareholders meeting in Seongnam, the company unveiled a comprehensive business strategy focused on leveraging AI to create seamless services that understand user intent and execute optimal actions.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Choi Soo-yeon, emphasized the importance of AI in determining business competitiveness. Choi stated, "AI has become a critical inflection point that determines a business' competitiveness." Naver aims to offer unique agentic experiences that highlight the company's strengths in AI transformation across various sectors.

The plan includes expanding Naver's shopping AI agent, which was introduced as a beta service on its premium shopping service, Naver Plus Store, across all shopping categories within the year. Additionally, Naver intends to enhance vertical agents specialized for domains such as search, shopping, local services, finance, and health.

As part of its sovereign AI strategy, Naver will focus on growing its enterprise AI business, which supports AI transformation tailored to the specific national and industrial contexts of each country. The company is introducing AI across all business operations to increase productivity, with a goal of doubling productivity across all divisions through AI this year.

In its financial outlook, Naver reported projected sales of 12.4 trillion won (approximately US$8.21 billion) and an operating profit of 2.2 trillion won for 2025, reflecting increases of 12.1 percent and 11.6 percent from the previous year, respectively.
