Seoul: National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac has met with the new U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, Michelle Steel, for the first time since she assumed her role, a government official revealed on Friday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the meeting took place shortly after Steel took office late last month. The official, who provided the information on condition of anonymity, indicated that Wi and Steel have prior experience interacting from her tenure as a House representative.
During their recent meeting, discussions likely focused on South Korea-U.S. relations. Key topics of conversation may have included alliance issues such as South Korean investment in the United States and matters concerning the U.S.-listed e-commerce platform Coupang.
