N.K. Leader Expresses Gratitude to Troops in Overseas Operations, Emphasizes Patriotism on Founding Anniversary

Seoul: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has extended special thanks to troops involved in overseas military operations and urged North Koreans to foster the country's development through patriotism, as reported by state media on Thursday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim delivered these remarks at a ceremony commemorating the 78th anniversary of the country's founding, held in Pyongyang the previous day. During the event, he expressed gratitude to workers, service personnel, and overseas compatriots' organizations, particularly acknowledging the commanding officers and soldiers engaged in overseas military operations.

Kim highlighted the significance of patriotism and the contributions of the North Korean populace. He stated that the country's ideals are rapidly being realized due to the patriotism, voluntary service, and devoted contributions of citizens who aspire for the nation's prosperity. He noted that the fighting morale to achieve these goals has been significantly enhanced.

He further emphasized that the "righteous minds and efforts" of those who love and serve the country are vital pillars supporting the nation's current development. Kim called on the ruling Workers' Party of Korea and the government to assume greater responsibility, take more significant strides, and achieve dynamic progress.

During the ceremony, Kim, along with senior party, government, and military officials, held red scarves and pledged loyalty to the socialist system and regime. He also met with representatives from various sectors, including labor innovators and meritorious individuals, and posed for commemorative photos with them, according to KCNA.
