McDonald’s Korea to Increase Prices on 35 Menu Items Due to Rising Costs

Seoul: McDonald's Korea, the local unit of the U.S. fast-food giant, has announced a price increase on 35 of its menu items by an average of 2.4 percent, set to take effect this week. This decision has been attributed to escalating costs, marking the second price adjustment by the company in less than a year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the latest price revision follows a previous adjustment in March 2025, when McDonald's Korea raised prices on 20 menu items by an average of 2.3 percent. The company has cited the weakening won against the U.S. dollar, which has led to increased raw material costs, alongside rising labor expenses, as the primary factors necessitating this change.

Under the new pricing structure, the iconic Big Mac combo will see a price increase to 7,600 won (approximately US$5.20) from the previous 7,200 won. Additionally, the cost of the bulgogi burger is set to rise by 200 won, bringing it to a new price of 3,800 won. Some side dishes and beverages will also see a price hike.

Earlier in the month, Burger King, another prominent U.S. fast-food chain operating in South Korea, implemented similar price increases. The price of its well-known Whopper burger increased by 200 won, bringing the total to 7,400 won.
