Man Stabs Three at Seoul Office After Being Fired for Alleged Sexual Assault

Seoul: A man in his 60s attacked three people at an office in eastern Seoul after being dismissed for an alleged sexual assault, according to police reports. The incident occurred on Tuesday at a redevelopment cooperative in Cheonho-dong, Gangdong Ward.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the suspect, identified by his surname Jo, stabbed two women in their 50s and 60s and a man in his 70s around 10:20 a.m. The victims were immediately transported to nearby hospitals, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Jo, who formerly led the cooperative, was arrested at the scene and is facing charges of attempted murder. Police are investigating his motives for the attack. Members of the cooperative revealed that Jo is currently on trial for allegedly sexually assaulting the 50-something female victim, who is employed by the organization, in July.

Before the stabbing, Jo reportedly visited the office to negotiate a settlement with the woman after prosecutors recommended a fine. His dismissal from the cooperative followed the alleged incident.
