Seoul:A man in his 20s was arrested on Monday on suspicion of killing an elderly man in a residential area of northern Seoul, according to police reports.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the suspect was detained around 1 a.m. for allegedly killing a man in his 70s in Gangbuk Ward on Saturday. The Seoul Gangbuk Police Station reported discovering the victim's body at approximately 7 p.m. on Saturday after a missing report indicated the man was unreachable.

Investigators have established that the suspect and the victim were strangers before the incident. The suspect claimed the killing was accidental, occurring after an argument ensued when their shoulders accidentally bumped on the street.

Police are planning to request an arrest warrant for the suspect as they continue to investigate the incident's circumstances, including the suspect's motive.
