LS Electric Secures Major U.S. Contract for Data Center Switchgear

Accra:Seoul LS Electric Co., a South Korean electrical equipment manufacturer, announced that it has secured a significant contract worth 170 billion won (approximately US$127 million) to supply switchgear for a data center project in the United States. The project is being developed by a major U.S. technology company, though the specific client has not been disclosed.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company will deliver 38-kilovolt switchgear for a hyperscale artificial intelligence (AI) data center project next year. The contract extends through 2028, with the supply volume for the final year to be determined through future consultations with the U.S. company involved.

The company noted that investment in power infrastructure across North America is accelerating due to the growing demand for electricity driven by the expansion of AI and cloud computing. The market for data center power infrastructure in the U.S. is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 16 percent, increasing from 13 trillion won in 2025 to 56 trillion won by 2035.
