Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed notable fluctuations as trading concluded, with significant declines recorded by several prominent companies. Leading the downturn were LGCHEM and KIWOOM, which saw their closing prices drop by 4,500 and 18,000, respectively.
According to Yonhap News Agency, LGCHEM's shares closed at 266,000, marking a decrease alongside KIWOOM, which ended at 265,500. Other companies, such as NAVER and LG CNS, also experienced declines, with NAVER's stocks down by 9,000 to close at 208,000, and LG CNS dropping by 2,900, ending at 71,000.
Despite the overall downward trend, a few companies posted gains. LOTTE WELLFOOD's shares rose by 200 to 123,400, while KEPCO KPS and LIG Defense and Aerospace saw increases of 350 and 1,000, closing at 45,300 and 79,600, respectively.
In contrast, significant losses were recorded by HYUNDAI ROTEM and HD-Hyundai Marine Engine, with their prices falling by 6,900 and 1,100, closing at 136,300 and 54,100. Additionally, SK Innovation and KB Financial Group experienced declines, closing at 128,900 and 166,400, with decreases of 2,600 and 2,100, respectively.
Other companies such as CSWIND and AMOREPACIFIC managed to achieve gains, with CSWIND increasing by 250 to 45,950 and AMOREPACIFIC up by 900 to close at 133,100. As the market continues to navigate these fluctuations, investors remain vigilant about potential impacts on future trading sessions.
