Seoul: The LG Twins clinched the best record of the 2025 Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) regular season Wednesday. The Twins lost to the NC Dinos 7-3 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul to finish their season at 85-56-3 (wins-losses-ties). However, they still got the top spot secured when the Hanwha Eagles lost to the SSG Landers 6-5 later in Incheon, just west of the capital.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Eagles were an out away from winning the game 5-4 and staying alive in the race for the top spot. Another win on Friday would have forced a tiebreaker game for first place Saturday, before the Landers hit two homers in the bottom of the ninth inning for the dramatic win.
With the pennant, the Twins earned a bye to the Korean Series, set to begin Oct. 21.
