Seoul: LG Electronics Inc. announced plans to commence the global launch of its StanbyME 2 portable display this week. The rollout will start in Hong Kong and Turkey, followed by launches in the United States, Canada, Vietnam, and Singapore later in the month. The product is expected to enter the European market next month.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the StanbyME 2 was first unveiled at CES 2025 in January. The device features a detachable 27-inch touchscreen and a built-in battery capable of offering up to four hours of playback. Since its domestic debut in February, sales of the new model have surged to nearly four times those of its predecessor, released four years ago.

"We aim to strengthen our leadership in the global portable TV market with the LG StanbyME 2," stated Lee Chung-hwan, vice president at LG Electronics.
