Seoul: LG Electronics Co. announced that it has been named the most creative supplier of the year by General Motors Co. (GM) for its exceptional innovation and collaboration in developing automotive technology.
According to Yonhap News Agency, LG Electronics received the Creativity Team Award at GM's 33rd Supplier of the Year Awards held last week. This accolade highlights the company's significant contributions to redefining in-vehicle entertainment and connectivity systems. The annual event acknowledged nearly 100 suppliers from 12 countries, emphasizing the importance of building robust relationships with GM.
LG Electronics has maintained a partnership with GM since 2006 and was first recognized at GM's Supplier of the Year Awards in 2014. The recent honor marks the seventh time the company has been acknowledged by GM for its contributions.
Vice President Eun Seok-hyun, head of the vehicle solutions division at LG Electronics, commented on the recognition, stating, "This latest recognition from GM serves as a testament to our commitment to developing and reliably supplying innovative automotive solutions." He further expressed the company's intent to strengthen its partnership with GM and continue advancing automotive technology.
Traditionally recognized for its home appliances, LG Electronics has been actively diversifying its business portfolio. Following its exit from the smartphone business in 2021, the company has focused on becoming a future-oriented company, exploring new technological frontiers.
