Las vegas: LG Electronics Inc. announced the unveiling of its new robot, CLOiD, an AI home assistant, ahead of CES 2026, as part of its "AI in action" vision. At the LG World Premiere, an annual pre-CES event held in Las Vegas under the theme "Innovation in tune with you," CLOiD was introduced as a home-specialized agent designed to provide ambient care and reduce physical and mental labor.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the robot is equipped with two arms and five-fingered hands, enabling it to perform household chores such as putting laundry into a washing machine or bringing a cup of water. LG Electronics stated that CLOiD represents the company's commitment to customer-centric AI innovation, illustrating how AI can be realized in home appliances by actively orchestrating devices, spaces, and services.
Chief Executive Officer Lyu Jae-cheol emphasized LG's understanding of customer lifestyles as a powerful advantage. He highlighted the company's confidence in setting a new standard for future home life through various solutions, including robots. Lyu also mentioned the expectation that customers' AI experiences will extend beyond the home to vehicles, workplaces, and commercial areas as integral parts of their lives.
During the event, LG Electronics showcased a next-generation OLED TV and its high-end Signature lineup. The LG OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV features a 9-millimeter panel, offering a sleek, wallpaper-like design with enhanced color and wireless technologies. Additionally, the LG Signature refrigerator, powered by AI, understands conversational language and provides tailored recommendations, such as recipes based on stored food items.
