Seoul: LG Display Co. announced that it achieved a profit in 2025 for the first time in four years, primarily due to the strong performance of its organic light-emitting diode (OLED) business. Operating profit for the year reached 517 billion won (US$360 million), a significant recovery from a loss of 560 billion won in 2024, as reported in a regulatory filing by the company.

According to Yonhap News Agency, sales for LG Display totaled 25.8 trillion won, marking a 3 percent decrease from the previous year. While net profit data was not disclosed, the company's fourth-quarter operating profit notably doubled to 168.5 billion won. During the same quarter, sales decreased by 8 percent to 7.2 trillion won.

LG Display attributed its annual financial turnaround to its OLED division, which made up 61 percent of the total sales in 2025, showing a rise from 55 percent in 2024. The company emphasized its strategic shift away from large-sized LCD business, opting instead to restructure and concentrate on the OLED sector.

Moreover, LG Display expressed its commitment to evolving into a "technology-oriented" company over the long term, aiming to establish a sustainable profit structure.
