Seoul: LG CNS Co., an information technology affiliate of LG Electronics Inc., announced its second-quarter net income of 118.7 billion won (US$83.1 million), marking a 19.9 percent increase from the previous year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company, which specializes in smart logistics, cloud services, and artificial intelligence, revealed in a regulatory filing that its operating income for the April-June period declined by 9.2 percent year-on-year to 127.9 billion won. Meanwhile, sales experienced a 4.2 percent rise, reaching 1.52 trillion won.

The operating profit was 4.6 percent below the average estimate, as indicated by a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. However, the survey did not provide an estimate for the net profit.
