Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating slipped slightly to 60 percent this week, led by mixed assessments of his economic policies, a poll showed Friday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the survey conducted by Gallup Korea from Tuesday through Thursday involved 1,001 respondents aged 18 and over. It revealed that the positive assessment of Lee's overall performance fell by 1 percentage point from the previous week.
The survey also indicated that the negative assessment decreased by 1 percentage point to 29 percent, with 10 percent of respondents remaining undecided about their stance.
Lee's economic policies were the most frequently cited reason for a positive evaluation, accounting for 19 percent, followed by diplomacy at 17 percent. Conversely, among the negative responses, 21 percent expressed concerns over the economy, with diplomacy concerns following at 8 percent.
The approval rating for the ruling Democratic Party saw a slight increase of 1 percentage point to 44 percent. Meanwhile, the main opposition People Power Party's approval rating rose by 3 percentage points to 25 percent.
The survey reported a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points at a 95 percent confidence level.
