Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung pledged his commitment to fostering an inclusive society during a luncheon with leaders from major religious communities, aiming to ease social conflicts and unite the nation. Lee emphasized his dedication to creating a society in which South Koreans can unite, forgive, and embrace each other.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee acknowledged the challenges in his pursuit to unite the people, stating that while he is doing his utmost, there are inherent limitations. He expressed concerns over the increasing social conflict and animosity and urged religious leaders to continue their efforts in promoting unity and reconciliation. He highlighted the importance of love as a fundamental principle of religion in achieving these goals.

Venerable Jinwoo, president of the Jogye Order and co-chair of the Korean Council of Religious Leaders, supported President Lee's vision, expressing a shared desire for peace and stability within the nation. Jinwoo emphasized the importance of working collaboratively toward the common goal of fostering peace in the hearts of the people.

The luncheon included leaders from prominent Buddhist and Protestant groups, alongside Archbishop Chung Soon-taick of the Archdiocese of Seoul and Bishop Lee Yong-hoon, president of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea, reflecting a broad spectrum of religious representation in the discussion.
