Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung on Friday instructed his aides to come up with measures to rein in real estate speculation and eradicate stock manipulation as part of efforts to "normalize" what he labeled as "seven major abnormalities."
According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee made the remarks during a meeting with his senior secretaries and aides, emphasizing the need to address societal irregularities to overcome the current wave of external crises. He stressed the importance of instilling the belief that those caught engaging in unfair profit practices could face irreparable financial losses, potentially leading to their ruin.
Lee urged officials to ensure the strict enforcement of existing measures and to develop additional strategies if necessary. He highlighted seven key abnormalities needing attention: drug-related crimes, corruption among public officials, voice phishing, illegal activities in the real estate sector, large-scale tax delinquency, stock manipulation, and industrial incidents.
