Seoul: Kumho Petrochemical Co. on Friday reported its third-quarter net income of 106.9 billion won (US$73.4 million), marking an increase of 101.2 percent from the same period last year. The company detailed these figures in a regulatory filing, highlighting significant growth in its financial performance.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating profit for the July-September period rose by 29.7 percent on-year to 84.4 billion won. However, the company's revenue saw a decline of 10.1 percent, totaling 1.64 trillion won for the quarter.
The reported earnings surpassed market expectations, with analysts estimating an average net profit of 90.8 billion won. This estimate was based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm associated with Yonhap News Agency.
