Seoul: Krafton Inc., a South Korean game publisher known for its smash-hit title PUBG: Battlegrounds, on Monday reported its fourth-quarter net loss of 22.7 billion won (US$15.5 million), swinging from a profit of 491.2 billion won a year earlier. The company disclosed these figures in a regulatory filing.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Krafton's operating profit for the October-December period fell 98.9 percent on-year to 2.4 billion won. Despite the decline in operating profit, the company's sales increased 48.9 percent to 919.7 billion won.
Krafton's financial results reflect a challenging period as it navigates the gaming industry's competitive landscape. The increase in sales suggests that there is continued demand for its products, even as the company deals with reduced profitability.
