Seoul: The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced plans to co-host a roundtable this week for companies operating in China, with the goal of identifying business challenges and implementing practical policy improvements.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the event will be co-hosted by the National Assembly's Korea-China Parliamentary Friendship Group and is scheduled to take place on Thursday in Seoul. This marks the first official meeting between member lawmakers of the group and businesses active in China since the group's reorganization in late 2022.

The roundtable aims to gather first-hand accounts from the business community and explore potential solutions through legislative and administrative channels. "The sustainability of South Korea-China economic cooperation hinges on listening closely to the voices of our businesses," stated Rep. Kim Tae-nyeon of the ruling Democratic Party, who chairs the friendship group.

Kim further emphasized that the roundtable will act as a significant initial step in developing legislative and policy responses to the challenges faced by South Korean companies in China.
