KOTRA to Expand Overseas Distribution Channels for Korean Consumer Goods

Seoul: The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced plans to expand its overseas distribution network to more than 330 channels this year, aiming to enhance the country's exports of consumer goods.

According to Yonhap News Agency, KOTRA intends to collaborate with 336 distribution channels across 60 countries in an effort to facilitate the entry of Korean companies into major retail chains and increase their sales in various regions. Last year, the organization partnered with 298 distribution channels in 50 countries.

As part of this initiative, KOTRA has recently assisted seven Korean companies in opening stores at Landers, a prominent retail warehouse club in the Philippines. Additionally, a dedicated section for Korean products has been established on Mercado Libre, the largest e-commerce platform in Latin America.

KOTRA is also planning to enhance overseas marketing events for Korean products, including the Korean Wave expos scheduled for the United Arab Emirates in June and Vietnam in September. In China and Mexico, the agency is set to organize K-lifestyle expos.

Moreover, KOTRA has established new support desks at 20 of its overseas offices, such as those in New York, Toronto, Hanoi, Singapore, and London, to aid Korean consumer goods exporters in navigating the certification processes necessary for entering foreign markets.
