Seoul: The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced its selection of 80 service-related firms with substantial potential for exports, committing to assist in their overseas market expansions. KOTRA aims to enhance the international reach of these enterprises by offering support measures such as identifying foreign partners, providing consulting services, conducting market analysis, and facilitating participation in overseas business conferences.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the selected enterprises span various industries, including food franchises, education technology, health care, content, and ICT. KOTRA has structured the annual support program to bolster South Korea's service exports, which currently constitute about 15 percent of the country's total exports, falling short of the global average of 20 percent.
The initiative's impact has been evident, with KOTRA assisting service companies in exporting goods valued at US$13 million in 2024 and $17 million in 2025. The agency's efforts are part of a broader strategy to elevate the presence of South Korean service industries in the global marketplace.
