Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index presented a mixed performance today, with several companies experiencing significant gains while others faced notable declines. Among the top performers, Samsung Card saw an increase of 1,300, closing at 56,100, while NAVER rose by 9,000 to 281,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies that reported gains include LG Uplus and KT, which rose by 1,130 and 1,600, closing at 16,320 and 56,000 respectively. KIWOOM recorded a significant rise of 32,000, reaching 390,500. ShinhanGroup and SANIL ELECTRIC also reported increases, with their prices moving up by 3,700 and 3,200, closing at 86,100 and 142,500, respectively.
Conversely, several companies saw declines in their stock prices. PARADISE's stock fell by 340 to 16,570, while LIG Nex1 witnessed a significant drop of 17,000, closing at 512,000. Celltrion and Hyundai Rotem also experienced declines, dropping by 3,500 and 1,500 to close at 211,500 and 211,500, respectively.
The financial sector showed positive movements, with Woori Financial Group and Hana Financial Group reporting increases of 1,100 and 3,800, closing at 30,650 and 105,000, respectively. Meanwhile, KBFinancialGroup saw an increase of 7,500, closing at 143,000.
In contrast, some sectors faced losses, including LGELECTRONICS and SK Innovation, which fell by 1,200 and 2,600, closing at 101,300 and 111,500, respectively. Despite these declines, the market displayed resilience with various sectors showing upward momentum.
