Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index exhibited a mixed performance on Thursday as stocks traded on the main Korea Stock Exchange showed varied results in their closing prices. Notable gains and losses were recorded across multiple sectors, reflecting the volatile nature of the market.
According to Yonhap News Agency, among the gainers, Samsung F and M Insurance saw a significant rise, closing at 651,000 KRW, up 15,000 KRW. Samsung Epis Holdings also recorded a substantial increase, closing at 440,000 KRW, up 14,000 KRW. Hanwha and DB HiTek were other major gainers, with their stocks closing at 106,800 KRW and 158,000 KRW, up by 3,000 KRW and 5,600 KRW, respectively.
On the other hand, several stocks faced declines. POSCO Holdings experienced a notable drop, closing at 323,000 KRW, down 8,500 KRW. Taekwang Industrial and Doosan also saw significant declines, with their stocks closing at 810,000 KRW and 1,508,000 KRW, down by 15,000 KRW and 37,000 KRW, respectively. CJ CheilJedang faced one of the steepest declines, closing at 179,600 KRW, down 10,400 KRW.
Other stocks such as Hyundai Motor and Hyundai Engineering and Construction also experienced declines, with Hyundai Motor closing at 503,000 KRW, down 6,000 KRW, and Hyundai Engineering and Construction closing at 112,600 KRW, down 2,100 KRW. The mixed results reflect ongoing market uncertainties and investor caution.
